A memorial dinner will be held at the Mystic Marriott on April 10, 2023, marking the 60th anniversary of the loss of the USS Thresher. All Electric Boat employees, both salary and hourly, are invited to attend and join us in honoring the 129 men lost with the Thresher on April 10, 1963.
Joining us at the memorial dinner will be Victoria Sallade, granddaughter of USS Thresher Navy crew member, Charles L. Wiggins. Victoria will share her first-hand perspective on the impact that poor submarine quality has on sailors and their families. Jim Noonan, retired Director of Quality Assurance and Special Emphasis Programs at Electric Boat, will speak to the significant impact that the loss of the USS Thresher has had on improving quality in the submarine building industry and the need for continued vigilance to prevent future tragedies.
This is an Electric Boat event, sponsored by the Electric Boat Management Association (EBMA) and co-sponsored by several EB employee organizations and employee resource groups, including EBAC, HSA, WID-NESC, BEC, ForWARD, EQUAL, EBVN and Toastmasters.
The EBMA is responsible for ticket sales for this event. Tickets are $30 for EBMA members and $35 for all others, including guests.
To purchase a ticket and make your dinner selection, please contact an EBMA booster in your location. There are a total of 600 tickets available for this event. Ticket sales end on April 5, 2023, or until this capacity is reached.
