Today marks one of the most significant moments in Electric Boat’s history.
As part of its $76.6 billion submarine contract announcement, the U.S. Navy has awarded Electric Boat ship construction contracts valued at $29.5 billion for five Columbia-class submarines and $42.1 billion for nine Virginia-class submarines, along with incentives for shipyard infrastructure.

What it means
The Navy has made its expectations clear. Accelerate the delivery of submarines while maintaining the unmatched standard for quality that defines EB. We must act with urgency, commitment and unity of purpose.
Looking Ahead
These contracts reflect the trust that Electric Boat has earned from the Trump administration, the Congress and the Navy. They create stability, opportunity and further solidify the future for EB while providing economic security for thousands of households across Connecticut and Rhode Island. And they allow us to continue playing the critical role we’ve played for generations and take great pride in—delivering freedom.
To all 27,000 of you: thank you. These awards are a direct reflection of the respect this nation has for your work, your commitment and the quality you deliver.
Now, our job is to meet the moment and deliver these boats on schedule.
I’m proud to be part of this team and work with all of you.
This is our time.
Mark
