​Thank you to our incredible EB Heart Walk teams, our community partners, and everyone who joined the American Heart Association (AHA) Torch Journey photoshoot. Your enthusiasm and dedication made this milestone truly special.

Now let’s keep our HeartStrong 50 energy going—our goal is 50 teams and $50,000 raised for the 2026 AHA Eastern Connecticut Heart Walk on October 3 at UConn Avery Point.

With 47 days to go, there’s still time to join or create a team. Every registered walker gains access to Hands-Only CPR online training plus lifesaving heart-health resources. Walkers who fundraise can also earn AHA and EB reward incentives!

Walker Incentives

  • Raise $25 – EB 2026 Heart Walk T-shirt
  • Level 1: $100 –  AHA t-shirt
  • Level 2: $250 – AHA long sleeve tee or AHA Cookbook
  • Level 3: $500 – AHA long sleeve performance tee or AHA hoodie
  • Level 4: $1,000 – Recognized as a Top Walker and receive an AHA cap, Mercer + Mettle Linear ¼ Zip, J America Electric Fleece ¼ Zip, or 30oz Stanley FlowState Quencher Tumbler
  • Level 5: $2,500 – OGIO Connection Jacket or Nike Hoodie
  • Level 6: $5,000 – Adidas Pullover or Brooks Brothers Quilted Vest

Team Captain Incentives

  • Team raises $1,000 – Coach signature tee
  • Team raises $2,500 – Coach classic cap
  • Team raises $5,000 – Coach classic crewneck sweatshirt

New for 2026, Weekly Coach Connect Session with the Heart Walk Director starting Tuesday, August 18, from 12:00–12:30 p.m. These 30‑minute sessions provide fundraising strategies, recruitment tips, resources, and a space to get all your questions answered.

AHA Heart Walk Pet Pageant

The AHA Heart Walk Pet Pageant is back again for its second year! Our furry feathered and even scaly friends keep us motivated to stay healthy. Enter your pet to support the Heart Walk and compete for the top fundraiser prize in the EB Pet Pageant.

How to Participate:

  1. Sign your pet up to join the EB Pet Pageant Team.
  2. Submit a photo and bio of your pet on your pet’s page.
  3. Share your pet’s page with coworkers, friends, family and even your personal social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) to help your pets raise funds to support the Heart Walk.
  4. All funds raised by each pet will go directly to the AHA Heart Walk.
  5. The pet that raises the most money by October 2, 2026, will win the pet pageant. The winning pet will receive a $200 gift card prize.
