Ahoy, shipmates!

It’s been a while since you’ve heard from us, but we sure have been busy! Since our last update in the beginning of September, we’ve been continuing our mission of uniting EB employees in support of veterans here and in the community. We’d like to take this opportunity to fill you in on our current efforts and what’s to come in the near future.

EBVN Clothing Drive
The EBVN is excited to have partnered with Easternseals Veterans Rally Point, a non-profit organization in Norwich dedicated to helping CT Veterans and service members. Aware of how difficult it can be for these men and women to navigate civilian life, Veterans Rally Point offers a variety of services free of charge, ensuring no veteran or current service member is left behind. In support of this life-changing organization, we are currently holding a food and clothing drive to assist homeless veterans.

The drive began at the beginning of October and donations are still being accepted until November 3. If you wish to make a donation, you can drop food or clothing items in the boxes located at your location. The boxes display the attached flyer and can be found in high-traffic areas at CT and RI Electric Boat locations, including Groton, King’s Highway, New London, Eagle Park and Quonset Point. If you prefer to donate monetarily, you can do so by contacting your EBVN site lead or emailing us at EBVN@gdeb.com for further instructions. Thank you on behalf of our local heroes to all who have graciously donated thus far.

Veterans Day 2021
As you’re aware, Veterans Day is fast-approaching. The EBVN will be holding site-specific events, so please keep an eye out for upcoming notifications in the weekly Community News email and on the Homeport calendar. We have some exciting things planned, including the announcement of our “Grand Rebrand” – stay tuned!

Aside from EBVN’s planned events, an employee bulletin will be released in the coming weeks regarding the company’s Veterans Day Observance ceremonies, which will take place on Wednesday, November 10. Keep an eye out for the emailed bulletin, which will outline the times of each observance.

Our Website
We have worked hard to get our website up and running, but we need assistance with management and modernization of the website. If you are familiar with HTML coding and would like to help the EBVN, please contact Devin Beatrice at dbeatric@gdeb.com or (860) 514-3402 (call/text). Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated by our team!

As always, if there is anything that we as EBVN leaders can do for you, please do not hesitate to reach out.

EBVN membership is open to all EB employees, both veterans and veteran supporters. For more information or to join EBVN, please email EBVN@gdeb.com.
