You are currently viewing One Week Left—Let’s Claim the Torch! AHA Eastern Connecticut Heart Walk: Final Countdown

We are just one week away from the 2026 AHA Eastern Connecticut Heart Walk on October 3, 2026, at UConn Avery Point and this is our moment to finish strong. We’ve built incredible momentum, and now we’re within striking distance of something big.

Right now, Electric Boat is holding second place, behind Mohegan Sun by just under $10,000. That difference is absolutely within reach, but only if we make this final week count. The torch is within our grasp, and with one last united push, we can take the top spot.

Our goal is to be the first company inscribed on the torch as the top fundraising company and years to follow.

What’s Driving Us Forward:

  • We have three walkers in the top five individual fundraisers.
  • We have three teams in the top five fundraising teams.
  • Our employees have shown enormous spirit, commitment, and heart.

Now we need the final surge: register, donate, and rally your team. Even small contributions this week could be what puts us over the edge.

How you can help us close the gap:

  • Register today for any team or create your own team if you haven’t already—and invite someone to walk with you.
  • Donate to a team or an individual walker.
  • Post the 2026 AHA Heart Walk flyer in your office or building.
  • Share the Team General Dynamics Electric Boat Heart Walk page link widely.
  • Create or join a team and encourage friendly competition across departments.
  • Support the cause with our 2025 EB Heart Walk T-shirts:
The EB 2025 Heart Walk T‑shirts are still on sale to help raise additional funds toward our goal. The price has been reduced to $5, making it an easy way to contribute. You can purchase a shirt by contacting EBCommunityEngagement@gdeb.com.
  • Don’t forget our Pet Pageant!
Our AHA EB Pet Pageant giving our furry friends a chance to help us fundraise. You can sign your pet up for the pageant and bring them along to join us at the walk on October 3, 2026 at UConn Avery Point. As a reminder, the pet that raises the most money for the walk receives a prize. It’s a fun way to get even more people (and pets) involved while boosting your fundraising efforts.

Charter Oak Credit Union Donation Matching
If you have a fundraising account through Charter Oak Credit Union, you may be eligible for matching donations. This can double your impact instantly. If you’ve already raised funds but haven’t submitted your information for the match, visit your nearest branch as soon as possible. Every matched dollar helps push us closer to first place.

Team Captain & Walker Incentives—Don’t Miss Out!
Every registered walker who donates $25 or more will receive an official EB 2026 AHA Heart Walk t‑shirt. Wear it proudly on walk day, it shows your support and helps us represent our company with strength and unity.

Plus, a professional photographer will be onsite capturing team photos, candid moments, and the excitement of the event.

This is our final week. The gap is small. The opportunity is huge. Let’s register. Let’s donate. Let’s energize our teams. Let’s raise our numbers, raise our impact, and raise that torch on October 3.

Together, we can finish first as the 2026 top fundraising company and take the torch home for display at Electric Boat. Together, we can make a difference.
