Scores of EB employees turned out for the 2025 Heart Walk.

Electric Boat is proud to launch the 2026 Heart Walk campaign in support of the American Heart Association and its mission to build a stronger, healthier Eastern Connecticut community. This year, EB is honored to serve as the Signature Sponsor of the walk and the Onsite CPR Experience Sponsor, reinforcing our ongoing commitment to safety and community wellbeing. We are also proud to support Dr. Derek Stewart, EB occupational medicine physician, who is serving as the 2026 Eastern Connecticut Heart Walk Chair.

The walk will take place on:
Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026
UConn Avery Point Campus, Groton, CT
An estimated 600 participants from across the region will join in celebration of local survivors and the lifesaving progress being made in our community.

This year’s EB campaign theme is “HeartStrong 50 – Powering 50 Teams to $50,000.”
Our goal is:

  • 50 EB teams
  • 10 walkers per team
  • $100 raised per walker

Together, this supports a company-wide fundraising goal of $50,000 for heart disease and stroke research, CPR training initiatives and community health programs.

Heart disease and cardiac arrest affect people of all ages and backgrounds. According to the American Heart Association, nine in 10 people who experience cardiac arrest outside the hospital do not survive, and bystander CPR can double or triple a person’s chance of survival. Dr. Stewart’s leadership this year focuses on strengthening CPR readiness across Eastern Connecticut and helping create a community of lifesavers.

In the months ahead, we will share additional updates, highlight EB teams and provide simple ways for everyone to get involved. Team Captains and employees are encouraged to get creative—whether through small events, raffles, friendly competitions or other fundraising ideas that bring people together and build excitement.

Every step taken and every dollar raised helps fuel research, expand hands‑only CPR training and support the Heart Association’s goal of doubling out‑of‑hospital cardiac arrest survival by 2030.
