The 2024 Eastern Connecticut Heart Walk is right around the corner, and Electric Boat will continue our long-standing tradition of supporting this important effort led by the American Heart Association (AHA). Operating with an important mission to provide a healthier future for our communities, the AHA is dedicated to improving heart health and reducing deaths from cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Through fundraising, research and education, the AHA continues to save lives across the country. The annual Eastern Connecticut Heart Walk is one of their biggest fundraising efforts, and brings our region together to raise money and walk for a cause.
Electric Boat employees continue to come together each year to form teams and fundraise in support of the AHA’s Heart Walk. In 2023, we hit record numbers, forming 36 teams comprised of 257 walkers and beating our $27,000 fundraising goal. The fundraising efforts and donations made by employees resulted in EB raising over $33,000 for the AHA, making us the top company in our region. Our goal this year is to raise another $33,000, and EB employees have already formed 24 teams and raised over $8,200 towards that goal.
All employees are encouraged to continue our tradition of making a difference by participating in this year’s walk, taking place on October 6, 2024, at UConn’s Avery Point Campus in Groton. You can help us reach our goal by joining an existing EB team, creating your own EB team or by helping another team with their fundraising efforts by making a donation. However you choose to participate, you can visit the Electric Boat team page to help us support the fight against heart disease and stroke. Employees who fundraise and attend the walk will receive a 2024 EB Heart Walk t-shirt.

Atlas Plaque Unveiled, Honoring Plank Owners at South Yard Ceremony
