On Monday, January 30, Electric Boat’s Workforce Development team, in partnership with the Southeastern New England Defense Industry Alliance (SENEDIA), launched the first cohort of “Boat for Next Gen” with Central High School located in Providence, RI.
In this program, 14 students are taking part in exploring six different trades through activities administered by New England Institute of Technology (NEIT) and Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI) at the OPC’s Westerly Education Center (WEC).
The students pictured below are exploring welding while also learning the essential Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) needed for the job.
