A Message from Andrew Bond, Vice President, Planning

I am honored to be the chairman of the 2022 Eastern Connecticut Heart Walk for the American Heart Association. The annual event will take place on Sunday, October 2, at Rocky Neck State Park.

Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the United States and my goal is to help support the mission of the American Heart Association to provide a healthier future for our communities. Most of us have been touched by heart disease or stroke, and by supporting the Eastern Connecticut Heart Walk, we have an opportunity to truly make a difference.

Cardiovascular disease occurs every 39 seconds and is the No. 1 killer of all Americans. When you sign up to walk, you’re taking a stand against heart disease and helping fund breakthrough science that saves lives across the country each and every day.

General Dynamics Electric Boat has a long tradition of supporting this worthwhile cause, and I invite every one of you to volunteer to coach a team, participate in the walk or simply donate to the cause by supporting one of the teams. Every dollar raised goes to the American Heart Association, because every dollar counts in this fight against cardiovascular diseases.

Please join us in this campaign, form a team now and come walk with us in October. You can sign up to be a coach, make a donation, or simply learn more on the Eastern Connecticut Heart Walk website.

If you have any questions or would like more information on how you can get involved, please contact me or Gail Cole for more information.
