You are currently viewing SSBN 826 Columbia Keel Laying – June 4, 2022

Electric Boat’s Quonset Point facility will hold a keel-laying ceremony for the lead ship of the Columbia-class, the Columbia (SSBN 826), on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 10:00 am. This event will take place in Building 9, Bay 6, and is open to Electric Boat employees and one guest on a first-come, first-served basis.

To ensure we do not exceed capacity, we ask that you respond to ebpublicaffairs@gdeb.com with your name and your guest’s name by May 25. If the number of RSVP’s reaches capacity before the deadline, employees will be notified that the event has closed.

Employees must present their EB badges to the guards and act as escorts for their guest at all times. Guests must be U.S. citizens, and will need to present valid identification. Please note, you will not be allowed to take photos—your cell phone could be confiscated. Also, please plan on arriving by 9:30 am.

This event will be livestreamed on EB’s external website, and it will be available for viewing on demand after the ceremony as well as live.

Parking will be available in the Yellow Lot for the event. Please follow posted instructions for entering the facility and plan on arriving by 9:45 am.
