The Chamber of Commerce Eastern Connecticut holds their annual Regional Chamber Awards, known as The ECTys, to honor excellence in community engagement, innovation, customer service and business best practices. We’re proud to announce that this year, General Dynamics Electric Boat, President Kevin Graney and Wilmer Lambert were award recipients.
Electric Boat and Graney received the Board of Directors Special Award, presented to an individual or company—in this case both—that contributes significantly to our quality of life and has demonstrated exceptional growth, opportunity or influence in our region. This year, the Chamber recognized both GDEB and Graney for the profound work and opportunity Electric Boat provides to Eastern CT through employment, job training, community outreach and support, as well as the vital and impeccable work we do to defend our great nation.
Wilmer Lambert, Engineering Supervisor, received the Young Professional of the Year Award, which recognizes a young adult, age 18-40, who has demonstrated dedication to career success through advancement, entrepreneurialism or implementation of new programs/practices, and a commitment to community service through volunteerism and board activity.
The 2021 ECTys Awards Ceremony took place on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at the Mystic Marriot Hotel & Spa, where GDEB, Kevin Graney and Wilmer Lambert were recognized. Accepting the award on behalf of GDEB was Mark Rayha, Vice President of Finance and CFO, and Andrew Bond, Vice President of Human Resources. Wilmer Lambert accepted his award in person.
