You are currently viewing September 10, 2021 – EB Monitoring COVID 19 Updates from the Biden Administration

Last night, President Biden announced a series of initiatives aimed at controlling the spread of COVID-19.

The Biden Administration will ask all federal contractors, like Electric Boat, to comply with new COVID protocols that will be issued later this month.   These protocols are still in development and require no immediate action on the part of employers or their employees.  The Administration has indicated that part of these new protocols will include a COVID-19 vaccination requirement.   As a federal contractor, Electric Boat will comply with these protocols. However, requirements are still evolving and remain unclear at this time.

For EB employees who work on federal property, including SUBASE New London, other public shipyards and in-service submarines, the Department of Defense continues to evolve their COVID-19 requirements related to access to these facilities.   More information about these requirements will be provided to impacted individuals when available.

Since vaccines first became broadly available, we have encouraged our employees to get vaccinated to help protect themselves, their families and their coworkers.  This continues to be the case.  COVID-19 vaccines are available at all EB clinics and pharmacies.

EB employees are required to wear a mask indoors where they are unable to socially distance, regardless of vaccination status.

We will continue to provide updates as they become available.

Thank you for your cooperation.
