On Saturday morning, July 31, 2021, Electric Boat christened the Hyman G. Rickover (SSN 795), the 22nd submarine of the Virginia Class. The submarine’s namesake, Admiral Hyman G. Rickover, served for 63 years in the Navy and is credited with spurring the service to adopt nuclear propulsion after World War II.

Following the christening ceremony, EB employees and their families were invited into the yard to view the exterior of SSN 795. This special opportunity allowed employees to share what they do, and the product they build, with their loved ones. EB photographers were at the event and captured some great photos of employees and their guests.
