July 17, 2019 – System Cleanliness Tool Crib Opens in Bldg. 113
Jay Faubert and Bill Post cut the ribbon on the Cleanliness Tool Crib.
The System Cleanliness Tool Crib is now open in Bldg.113 (Pipe Shop). This tool crib will help reduce the time needed to gather consumable materials in order to complete Grade A and Steam Plant cleanliness work. Qualified Grade A and Steam Plant workers in all trades will now have a central location to obtain materials. Some of the acceptable parts list (APL)/qualified products list (QPL) items that will be stocked in the System Cleanliness Tool Crib include: various types of tape, lint-free clothes, gloves, stickers, green plastic bags, alcohol, stainless steel caps, plastic mirrors, markers and swabs, to name a few.
The idea of having a Cleanliness Tool Crib came from many different trade workers. Management has heard your concerns and acted upon them. If you have any new ideas or suggestions on how to continue making cleanliness a priority, you can contact Jay Faubert at 860-433-9661 or by email (jfaubert@GDEB.com).
We need to continue to focus on keeping a high cleanliness standard during the construction of submarine systems and components. By everyone keeping their work area clean, we can ensure that we are building a quality product for our customer. Let’s work together to ensure cleanliness is a priority.
