Hi everyone, today’s podcast is about the COVID vaccination.
As you know, the White House recently issued updated guidance related to vaccine requirements for employers. It includes an extension of the deadline to be fully vaccinated out to January 18th. We are continuing to work with the Navy to get clarity on how this will impact us.
Medical experts, including our own staff physicians, have stressed the importance that vaccination plays in combatting this virus.
Today, we are announcing an incentive bonus for those who have been vaccinated, or who plan to do so by the federal government’s vaccination deadline. Every vaccinated EB employee will receive an incentive payment of $500 as recognition for their commitment to keeping our shipyards safe.
Andrew Bond from Human Resources will share detailed information about this shortly. But here are a few important points:
- All vaccinated employees who have received both shots of Moderna or Pfizer or a single shot of Johnson and Johnson no later than January 4, 2022 are eligible for this bonus.
- Anyone who has already submitted their valid proof of vaccination, and who has received a confirmation email that this proof has been accepted and validated, is already eligible. No further action is needed from you.
- Your bonus will be paid as quickly as possible after you submit your proof of vaccination.
New federal regulations require that employers verify vaccination status of all of their employees. If you are fully vaccinated and have not already done so, please email valid proof of vaccination to proofofcovidvaccination@gdeb.com. Be sure to include your name and badge number in the subject line.
For those of you who have already been vaccinated, thank you for taking this step. And for those of you who aren’t vaccinated, I urge you to do so.
