You are currently viewing February 1, 2019 – BEC Kicks off Black History Month

Over the course of February, EB’s Black Engineering Council (BEC) will hold several events to celebrate Black History Month. Each year, the BEC holds events open to employees and the public as a way to recognize and spread the word on the heritage and accomplishments of African Americans.

The celebratory events start tomorrow, February 1, with the Kick-Off Social at Hot Rod Café in New London. Other events include an opportunity to view the Oscar-nominated “If Beale Street Could Talk,” a game of Jeopardy at a local church and a community service event.

Electric Boat and the BEC invite employees, friends and family to join them in learning, discussing and celebrating African American history.

Friday, 2/1 – Kick-Off Social at Hot Rod Café (4-6pm)

Friday, 2/8 – View & Chew at The Garde Arts Center & 2Wives Brick Oven Pizza (6:30-10pm)

Wednesday, 2/20 – BHM Jeopardy at St. James Church (3-4:30pm)

Tuesday, 2/26 – Community Service Event at Gemma E. Moran United Way/Labor Food Center (4-6pm)
