Electric Boat and the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 1302 (UBCJA) reached a tentative agreement for a new five-year contract. This agreement contains significant enhancements including higher wages, additional vacation and paid sick time for newer employees, a ratification bonus, a retention bonus, pension and 401k increases. Premium medical benefits will continue to protect UBCJA members and their families.
This agreement creates new efficiencies that enable the construction of these critical submarines at a higher volume and velocity.
The UBCJA will now present the agreement to their members and notify them of the ratification vote which will occur this week.
We commend both bargaining committees for all their hard work, the respect they showed one another during the negotiations, and their integrity to committing to excellence.
