Electric Boat and Metal Trades Council Reach Tentative Agreement

Late this evening, Electric Boat and the Metal Trades Council (MTC) reached a tentative agreement for a new five-year contract. This agreement contains significant enhancements including higher wages, additional vacation and paid sick time for newer employees, a longevity bonus for our long and faithful employees, a retention bonus, pension and 401k increases. A premiere benefits program will continue to protect MTC members and their families.
This agreement creates efficiencies and a new process to enable the construction of these critical submarines at a higher volume and velocity.
The MTC will now present the agreement to their members and notify them of the ratification vote which will occur next week.
We commend both bargaining committees for all their hard work, the respect they showed one another during the negotiations, and their integrity to committing to excellence.
