Join us on Thursday, November 10, 2022, for Electric Boat’s annual Veterans Day observances, as we gather together to honor our service members past and present. There will be three 15-minute ceremonies held for first-, second- and third-shift employees by the main gate flagpole in Groton. 2022 Veterans Day commemorative pins will be available for those in attendance.
Please see below for the schedule of events on November 10:
3rd Shift Ceremony
6:00 a.m. – 6:15 a.m.
1st Shift Ceremony
11:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.
2nd Shift Ceremony
4:00 p.m. – 4:15 p.m.
If you are unable to attend one of the above observances, you can tune into Quonset Point’s first-shift observance, which will be livestreamed starting at 1:30 p.m. on November 10. A banner with the livestream link will be posted to Homeport before the start of this observance. This session will also be recorded; a link to the recording will be posted at a later date.
Veterans, union representatives and active-duty Navy personnel are scheduled to speak at all three ceremonies. Electric Boat’s singing group, the SubTones, will perform the National Anthem at the start of each ceremony and “Eternal Father” at the conclusion.
If you are a current or past member of the armed services, please feel free to wear a commemorative hat, shirt or pin to work; be proud for putting the cause of freedom and needs of others before yourself. If you encounter a veteran, please thank them for their service.
