The Future Leaders Group (FLG) Cohort 12 kicked-off their 10-month leadership development program on October 24 with messages from senior leadership, introductions to the program and teambuilding and leadership workshops. The cohort consists of 100 current and future leaders who will participate in a series of online leadership courses, instructor-facilitated workshops and leadership networking and business briefs all designed to prepare them to fill mid-level management positions critical in this time of rapid growth.
The newly redesigned program blends online learning with more traditional instructor-led training. The learning portal provides content delivery via multiple modalities such as scholarly articles, videos, pod casts and interactive exercises. Topics include:
•Your Role as a Leader
•Trust
•Communication
•Delegation
•Accountability
•High Performing Teams
•Coaching
•Change & Agility
•Conflict Resolution
•Innovation
This delivery methodology provides learner flexibility in deciding when, where and how to digest the material. It is combined with more traditional instructor-led classes and workshops focusing on such topics as business acumen and delivering effective presentations.
Identified as a key component of FLG’s from the past was the networking opportunities and the one-to-one or small-group interaction with senior leaders. We made sure we kept this by scheduling five networking and business-brief events over the course of the 10 months.
We wish all 100 participants well in their leadership development quest.
