Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a celebration of life and death. The holiday originated in Mexico, but is now celebrated all over Latin America with food, music and festivities on November 1 – 2. The multi-day holiday involves family and friends gathering to pay respects and to remember friends and family members who have died.
Every year the Hispanic Shipbuilders Association (HSA) holds a small fundraiser the days leading up to Dia de los Muertos. Please see below for details on this year’s Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Fundraiser:
- From Oct. 26 – Nov. 1, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. daily (or while supplies last), there will be various Dia de los Muertos-themed merchandise available for purchase at the NL vendor tables. Groton orders will be scheduled for pick-up.
- Cookies will be available via pre-sale orders accepted before 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 24, 2022. Please email HSA@GDEB.com for your cookie order.
All proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards the H.S.A. Scholarship Program. Come see us at the New London vendor tables!
