As you know, the federal government recently released COVID-19 Workplace Safety Guidance, which includes a COVID-19 vaccination mandate for all employees of covered federal contractors.
As Kevin Graney reported earlier, we have not yet received contractual modifications that require us to implement the mandate. We have been making preparations that will ensure we can move out quickly when and if the mandate is implemented.
These plans include making provisions for religious and medical exemptions. For Medical Exemptions, you and your Health Care Provider will be required to complete a form specifying the medical reason for your request.  To request a Religious Exemption, you will be required to complete a form describing the sincerely held religious belief that precludes you from being vaccinated. These forms are attached.
The information provided will be used by Human Resources, Medical, or other appropriate personnel to engage in an interactive process to determine whether you are eligible for such exemption and if so, to determine if there are any reasonable accommodations which can be provided to enable you to perform the essential functions of your position.
While we are still waiting for clarity from the government, we wanted to give those of you who anticipate asking for an exemption, should this mandate be invoked, a chance to get that process started. Please complete the appropriate form and send them to COVIDVaccinationMedicalExemptionRequests@gdeb.com for a Medical Exemption or COVIDVaccinationReligiousExemptionRequests@gdeb.com for a Religious Exemption. We will not begin the process of reviewing these until mandate is implemented.
If you are not yet vaccinated, I urge you to do so. After you have been vaccinated, please send an email to proofofcovidvaccination@gdeb.com with your name and badge number in the subject line. Please attach a valid proof of vaccination, like a scanned image of a vaccine card or medical record.
We will continue to provide updates as they become available. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
