Today, we observed a moment of silence to mark the loss of our colleague, Robb Smith.  We continue to offer our condolences and support to his family, friends and teammates.  For those of you who may need additional support, I recommend contacting our Employee Assistance Program, which offers a range of counseling services that can help during these difficult times.

As we all continue to grieve over the loss of our team member, I wanted to provide an update on actions we have taken to date.   Immediately following the accident, we suspended Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) operations and Automated Frame and Cylinder operations across the site and started a comprehensive investigation with help from outside experts.  The ongoing investigation has not yet identified the root cause of this tragic accident; however, a number of actions are being taken to ensure the safety of our workforce.

A multi-disciplinary team looked at all aspects of MEWP operations and recommended a series of actions that allowed us to safely return to work in Yellow Controls, which include special emphasis on re-training operators and their supervisors.

Last week’s accident is a reminder to us all of the importance of making Safety a priority above all else.

Sincerely,

Sean Davies
